When
I was a little, I wasn't like most little girls. I
never dreamed of growing up and meeting my prince and living
happily ever after. I was easily content with my books
and flying kites and eating rhubarb on summer
afternoons.
Then
my Air Force dad went to Vietnam and during that year things changed.
For the first time in my life I learned that life was not
all about paper dolls and Maria singing in the Sound of Music. I
learned about loneliness and how much it hurt
to see other people hurt.
It was also the year I
turned fourteen and the year I became the writer, publisher
and delivery girl for my own somewhat naive family
newspaper. It was in those often silly and
non-sensible stories that God began to reveal Himself to me.
Over the next
thirty-odd years, through my three-year Army stint, marriage
to my prince charming, school books and work days, God sent me through a journey
into empty deserts, across the darkness and up to the
mountains so that the simple vision of a pony-tailed little
girl could eventually be used for His purpose.
Today,
those stories and the formidable lessons learned of hope in
the face of despair, courage over fear, truth from within
and God Above All form the foundation of my ministry,
teaching and writing.
Married for 28 years
to my knight-in-shining armor husband, Joe, an artist and
art restorer (www.artrestoration.biz),
we live in Pace, Florida, a small but delightful community
just a little north of the "seat of Naval Aviation" in
Pensacola, Florida. We invite you visit our beautiful
white-sand beaches and enjoy a little of our southern
hospitality!
We are also the very
proud parents of Lillie Millie, our precocious little
beagle-mix "dogter" and grandparents to the world's most
incredible grandchildren -- two sets (yes, two sets) of
twins, four-year-old Gia and Dante and almost one-year-old
Lulu and Luca.
When I was young, someone asked me what I wanted to do when
I grew up. For most of my life, maybe like you, I
didn't know how to answer that question. Today, that
answer is simple.
I want
more of Christ in my life.
I want
to talk about Jesus every moment I live.
I want
to learn everything I can about God.
I want
others to see God and love Him.
I want
to speak to my Father and have Him speak through me to others.
But
more than anything, I want Christ alive and living in all
Women!
So, in His love, and
with ferocious passion, truth, imagination and humor, I dare
to be a dangerous woman for Christ and I invite you to join
me on this Great & Daring Adventure!
